Veterinary Surgeon, Victoria animal hospital
Permanent, full time and part positions considered
Blue Cross is a 24 hour charity hospital providing veterinary treatment for animals belonging to those people whose financial circumstances do not allow them to afford private veterinary fees. The range of work carried out within Blue Cross animal hospitals is similar to that in private practice. We offer a high-quality working environment with extensive onsite facilities including digital X-Ray, onsite lab, endoscopy, ultrasound, infusion pumps, a large multidisciplinary veterinary team and a separate dedicated night team.
We have a vacancy for a Veterinary Surgeon. Applicants must be MRCVS and have significant experience in a small animal practice. The Victoria hospital sees a high caseload of emergency and critical care cases, both surgical and medical, so it is desirable that candidates have some small animal experience.
You will have a caring attitude to animals and owners and will be able to communicate well with colleagues and clients, with a natural affinity for all aspects of practical animal care and the ability to work in a team. In addition to dealing with emergency and routine clinical and surgical work as directed by the Chief Veterinary Surgeon, you will be flexible and dynamic to fit in with the night team duties on the rota.
What is required?
We are looking for people with the following:
• Member of Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
It would also be great if you had:
• UK small animal or mixed practice experience
• UK driving license
