Standby Receptionist, Grimsby
Blue Cross are one of the UK’s leading animal welfare organisations for animals. We support sick, injured and homeless pets and care for more than 40,000 animals every year through our rehoming, veterinary and education programmes.
What is the role?
We are currently recruiting for a Receptionist to work as part of our team delivering a first-class customer experience, dealing with enquires from the public effectively and by presenting a professional and friendly approach both face to face and on the telephone.
Please note, this role is specifically customer focused and will not be directly working with the pets on site.
We are looking for someone who has good communication and organizational skills and an excellent telephone manner. You will have a genuine desire to provide excellent services to customers and who thrives on working in a busy reception environment.

You will be on a zero hour’s contract and therefore you will not have regular hours of work but will be on standby to work shifts as and when required.
What is required?
We are looking for people with the following:
• GCSE’s or equivalent in English and Mathematics
• Dealing and interacting with a wide variety of the general public and their enquiries
• Experience of working in a busy reception/front of house environment
• An understanding of basic IT functions (Word, Outlook, Excel)
It would also be great if you had:
• An understanding of basic animal welfare
• Previous experience of working in the charity/voluntary sector
• An understanding of confidentiality and the Data Protection Act
• Previous experience of a busy hospital/clinic environment
• Experience working with Jupiter computing systems
