Permanent, part time 14 hours

Blue Cross are one of the UK’s leading animal welfare organisations for animals. We support sick, injured and homeless pets and care for more than 40,000 animals every year through our rehoming, veterinary and education programmes.

What is the role?
Come and join our great Blue Cross retail team which play a vital role in raising money to help our pets. Your role will be to select and purchase lines of products to support the sale of new goods in our Retail charity shops that accounts for around 9% of our total sales.

You will be able to identify customer preferences and forecasting consumer trends by analysing our Electronic Point of Sale System and monitoring stock levels within the charity and specific shops

You will also be able to work our with suppliers to negotiate the best deals to ensure that we are able to maximise margin.

This is a permanent part-time role working 14 hours per week, actual days worked can be discussed. The role is home based but will require some travel to Hartlebury in Kidderminster. Due, to the nature of the work of Blue Cross, and this post, it will be necessary to exceed these hours when the work load demands.

What is required?
• Experience of buying products in commercial retail or charity retail
• Able to evaluate supplier options including prices and quality
• Outstanding communication abilities, especially between the individual and the shop teams
• Demonstrable aptitude in effective negotiating
• Ability to build relationships with suppliers
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly with Excel.

It would also be great if you had:
• Financial experience and understanding of gross and net income

Salary: £26,660 - £31,000 per annum pro rata
