We are one of the UK’s leading rehoming organisations for animals. We support sick, injured and homeless pets and care for more than 40,000 animals every year through our rehoming, veterinary and education programmes. The Community and Events team connects with Blue Cross supporters around the country to change the lives of pets through a range of fundraising activities.

What is the role?

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has an interest in charity fundraising to join the Community and Events team. You’ll be providing administrative support to the Head of Community and Events and play a vital role in working with our wonderful supporters who help raise money through their amazing fundraising activities. You will also provide support where needed with our external events such as London Marathon and Bark in the Dark.

The successful candidate will have strong organisational skills, an outgoing and engaging personality, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and enjoys working on a wide range of projects simultaneously. We’d like you to be innovative because we are always looking at new ideas and opportunities. We don’t ask for much!

This is a full-time role of 35 hours per week Monday to Friday but you will be required to work occasional weekends.

What is required?

We are looking for people with the following:
• Demonstrable experience of working in a busy office environment, and supporting multiple projects
• Proven administration skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• The ability to work proactively, without supervision and independently
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills
• Excellent working knowledge of software applications
• Proven track record of prioritising and organising work and projects

It would also be great if you had:
• Experience of CRM databases
• Experience of digital marketing
