Laboratory Manager, Victoria animal hospital
12 month fixed term contract, full time

What is the role?
We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic person to work within and manage a small team providing a wide range of in-house laboratory tests at our Victoria animal hospital. This modern and fully equipped -vet hospital has a varied and advanced caseload involving critical care, in depth medical work-ups and orthopaedic surgery in addition to routine treatments and surgeries.
The successful candidate will need to be a lab technician or lab manager (with a HNC or HND diploma or equivalent qualification) or a qualified Veterinary Nurse with previous experience of carrying out core laboratory work.
Additionally, experience in quality control, troubleshooting and purchase order systems will be beneficial in this role. You will have experience of maintaining computerised records and will be capable of meticulous data entry and analysis. Management experience will be an advantage.
You will possess good communication skills, both verbal and written, and will have a flexible approach to your work with the ability to cope under pressure whilst dealing with a busy workload.

What is required?
We are looking for people with the following:
• HNC or HND diploma in biological sciences or Veterinary Nursing Diploma or degree
• Demonstratable experience in haematology, microbiology or biochemistry
It would also be great if you had:
• Degree level qualification in biological sciences or equivalent
• Experience working in a laboratory.
• Good IT skills – Word, Excel.
• Knowledge of quality control.

Salary: £24,569 - £26,066 plus £3,954 London Weighting Allowance per annum
